Goleuni a Thywyllch ~ Light and Darkness

By Cheiriosen aka Wych

Inspired by an inner journey, a song by Mary McLaughlin "Light of the Darkness" and a study of the Balance between my Light and Darkness.

Goleuni a Thywyllwch
Light and Darkness

“Not only is Darkness known through Light but Light is known through Darkness” ~Jung

Some are taught misguidedly that the story of Light and Darkness is a story of Good (Light) against Bad (Darkness) an eternal battle of wills.

Light has been related to Knowledge is it of common sense, teachings of the world or is it something deeper and more of ourselves and our purest thoughts and compassion.  Darkness has been related to the unknown, fear and mystery a great monster of our darkest thoughts and expressions.

Yet in the beginning its always Dark and from this void of nothing is the Light ever present refined and revealing our inspirations, ever burning to question, freeing our spirit to take flight and sore encouraging us to seek out our shadows, take our darkest passages and to face our deepest fears to listen to the echoes of our own reflections.

In the Darkness our Light illuminates the hidden creations of our soul, where we plant and nurture the seeds of who we are, we grow into the beauty of who we will be.

In the dark our scars and wounds are hidden and allowed to heal and flourish within our own light. We learn to shine in our own light. We find balance within our Darkness (Unconsciousness) and bath in our ever living Light (Consciousness).

In the Darkness I walk the path of my life the shadows are no more than whispers and from them I have come to know the Light’s warmth and I won’t be afraid as I come to know the Darkness’ embrace I will not find it so cold as it will be lit and seen with the deep Light within and I will know it.

Light and Darkness will comprehend one another.

Web of Life

Web of Life Aug 3rd 2014

Animals speak to us if we listen they each have lessons to teach us, understandings to share but we have to be open. When I was a child growing up in Oklahoma City I was scared of spiders and spider webs a part of my mind still is those unexpected ones. As I grew up and became more aware of myself, my beliefs expanding, my understanding of the Great Mystery around me, my fear eased into caution and respect.

As I develop and grow lessons become a life study. The Spider takes on a new thought from me my greatest importance for myself is Balance and to ask and know why? The Spider teaches us to maintain Balance between past, present and future, between our physical world and our spiritual self between our shadow self (Dark side) and our self (Light side)

We each weave our own web with our thoughts, feelings and actions, we write our own pathway with each action and reaction our choices the Spider reminds us we are the center of our own web (Life, World).

The Spider reminds us we are strong and can survive the storms (experiences good and bad) that we can rebuild from a destroyed web (Life) it teaches us to make our own opportunities, it teaches us of sacrificing for our loved ones and the threads that bind us of persistence and determination the construction of our web (Lives).

Surviving an abusive past, Raising an amazing daughter Katherine who just graduated from University Nevada Reno, Meeting an Amazing man Michael who has been my friend, partner, companion and support. Educating myself to have opportunities and know my self, the Spider teaches me to ask myself.

How are my choices affecting my life? The choices I made to forgive myself and those who hurt me made the threads of my web (Life) stronger. How are my choices improving my life? I remember who I was and where I came from it doesn't control where or who I am. How are my choices affecting others in my life? It doesn't dictate where I am going or who I am going to be. Am I weaving my dreams into reality? I am a work in progress but I can see beyond myself.

May you find the brilliance of your own web created each day and answers to your own questions.

Yantra March 2014

A Little wild and free the creative spirit calls us to explore our Passion of Life to express our thoughts through dance, music, writing and art.

The spirals reminds us of our ever evolving journey through Life.

The Seed of Life (the Center Bindu) represents the point of creation, the infinite unexpressed it vibrates with tolerance and acceptance of all beings, all cultures and all beliefs bursting into the Flower of Life and the web of Creation.

The upward triangle and the downward triangle the Masculine (upward) represents action and Feminine (downward) meditation Joining together like unification of the placing of the left hand (masculine) mundane and the right hand (feminine) the sacred into oneness and harmony.

The Lotus illumination of our unlimited potential to remember mistakes and challenges of life are the fertilizer for brilliance and creation while being the light of forgiveness and compassion.

The Ivy is an example of the spirit and the strength we carry of survival and determination to with stand all harsh conditions, ever growing, emerging from destruction and clinging to who all hope.

My Yantra

My Yantra

A Yantra is a type of Mandala it literally means loom, instrument just as mantras with sound can be useful in balancing our mind and body through sounds and calming. Yantra visual patterns can be used to quiet a restless mind. This is a symbolic representation of aspects of divinity, the creative forces of the universe. My Yantra is inspired by my eclectic love and seeking for Balance. My Tarot Astrology has Nature as my fifth element and Seeker of Earth, Air, Fire and Water.

I have incorporated my passion for numerology, astrology and native totems, music notes. I translated an old Sanskrit verse: “From the unreal, lead me to the real; from darkness lead me to light; from death, lead me to immortality,”Brhadaranyaka Upanishad, 1.3.28. Passage to Welsh and used the word mortality in place of death by mistake and inscribed it into the Yantra.
I know it is a Sanskrit prayer but have heard and read different version of the words.

In Yantra Meditation you allow your eyes to focus on its center the Akasa (the fifth element the sky, space the one without body. The dot in the center of the soul spirit is called Bindu which presents the unity that underlies all the diversity of the physical world. The Triangles enclosing the Bindu the downward pointing one represents the feminine creative power the upward facing one represents male energy. The circles outside the triangles represent cycles of cosmic rhythms the notion that time has no beginning and no end. This rhythm is within us and without us.

The Lotus petals outside the circle represent opening as the heart and seat of the Self. It illustrates the understanding which comes from opening and expanding. When the heart opens understanding comes. Upon the petals are the music notes that make up my name at birth starting with the E above the Dragon totem the letters in the outer circle starting with the D note above the Dragon totem is the music notes for my birthday. The circle of Nine Totems ,we are each born with nine animal totems they guide us and while we are not limited to just the nine and in addition 7 of the nine once we have learned their wisdom will leave us two totems will never leave us the right side and the left side walk with us through life.

Inspired by Akashic Record. “Soul Awakening to Itself” is a symbolic expression and interpretation. The she/he mediation figure represents the female/male aspects of the self in meditation resting the mind and attaining consciousness it’s not a contemplation, thought and reflection but a fathoming the levels of the self, focusing inward to experience beyond the mind and the external to the true self. Lavender she has a special sacred place in nature representing femininity suggesting refinement, grace, elegance. Blue he gives a feeling of distance to show perspective it allows a look beyond and helps open the flow of communication for learning and receiving information. Relaxes and calms in the face of chaos (life).

The mud that the she/he sits upon represents the murkiness in which the spirit is born. The lotus grows in muddy water rising and blooming above the murk to achieve enlightenment. We are born into a world of suffering these are vital to our experience it makes us stronger and teaches us to resist the temptation of evil it shows us who we are, who we can be and the path open to us. The Lotus represents rebirth which can be a change of ideas and acceptance.

The rocks symbolize stability, reliability devoted to principles and standards and our beliefs. The Moon symbolizes cycles of life, balance, mystery, emotions, intuition, transition and perception. The female/ yin influence. The Sun symbolizes the male/yang life, power, strength, energy, force, clarity and self.

The Tree of Life/Knowledge symbolizes Wisdom, protection, family, strength and abundance. It indicates that all forms of life are connected through a cosmic energy the tree of life the world tree connects life from its roots foundation to it branches expansion of life ancestors, children and children of our children. The tree of wisdom the cosmic tree connects the heavens and underworld and that which is within us.

The Dragonfly symbolizes mastery of life on the wing, understanding dreams, breaking down illusions seeing the truth, and change.

The Owl symbolizes Silent and swift movement, seeing behind the mask, link between the dark, unseen world and the world of light, freedom, messenger of secrets, comfort with the shadow self and ask us who we are.

For December 21 2012 Winter Solstice

Birth Life Death Rebirth. Beneath the Darkness a heartbeats waiting life. The time of darkness passes the path of light begins. Thankful for the watch over us as we sleep and for the blessings of each day. From gray skies, cold and lifeless preparing the way for the sun, warmth and life.

Rejoiced and embraced in the longest night welcoming all that it holds. Beneath the tree of light and love Welcome to all at my hearth, we are one family. Hospitality to all who cross my threshold may you find here rest from wandering, joy from sorrow, peace from turmoil, drink for your thirst, food for your hunger and support for your burdens. Keep us close, keep us together no matter how far we may venture. Our spirit and love a flame beacon burning in the night lighting the way home.

With the Earth now cold and the wind blowing and the fire smaller the rain turned to snow let the light of the sun find its way home. Even in the darkest times if you believe or if you are in doubt a light beacons of hope, of life, of love and of warmth, may it light your way. Blessing to All Love and Light Embrace you. Desert Adventure another Whispering Moment

There is just something that speaks to me about roads I love them and trails that just go on and on.

J.R.R. Tolkein wrote "The Road goes on and on. Down from the door where it began, Now far ahead the Road has gone. And I must follow, if I can. Pursuing it with eager feet. Until it joins some larger way . Where many paths and errands meet. And whiter then? I can not say."

It was mid afternoon outside the blue sky and the bright sunlight warmed the day, a wind blew through the open balcony door a whisper on the wind.

Whispering that dances through the soul as the wind through the trees and later in the swirling dust devil along the desert road. There is a sense of answering a call as we leave the walls of home closing the door to venture into the desert.

A moment of peace, of connection with the world when we raise up to see even the smallest of details not to see the desert as we have but as it truly can be, with a new appreciation for some place we may not really see, this is what the soul longs for the whispering of itself on the wind that draws us out into life.

A whispering moment that leads on and on into the desert where other paths cross and recross, where life came into this world and only remnants of that life remains.

May you follow the whispering of your soul the dancing and swirling of the wind and may you venture down many roads with eager feet and open mind and heart so that you may see the world in all its beauty.
